AES Capstone Design Projects

The Aerospace Engineering Sciences (AES) Department offers a two semester, 4+4 credits Capstone Design Projects course. This sequence includes ASEN 4018 Senior Projects I: Design Synthesis and ASEN 4028 Senior Projects II: Design Practicum. A short presentation of the course is given in CU-AES_CapstoneSeniorDesignProjects.ppsx. Details are available from the Department Senior Design Project Server.

We have also created a new AES Senior Design Brochure.pdf of our Senior Design Program for our visitors and friends of the Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department.

The AES Department is member of the CDIO Organization and has implemented elements of the CDIO Syllabus in all of its curriculum.

Your group was well organized and gave a good presentation. Progress on the project seems to be coming along well, too. One suggestion I have is to increase the quality of your control systems preparation. The block diagram presented was incorrect…

This airplane is so ugly and has so many things wrong with it that I at first felt sorry for the poor thing. But the project is a thing of beauty. The progressively stepped development and test plan is practical and impressive. Software and electric…
